New Theatre Group
Forming in Los Banos

Are you interested in being part of a brand new theatre for families in the Los Banos area? There is a group forming right now and you can be part of the very beginning. If you have never been involved in theatre yourself, let me tell you a few of the many benefits there are in participating in community theatre.
First you have a very diverse group of people, some with performance skills, some with technical skills and some with no artistic skills but plenty of desire to help out in some way. All ages are welcome, no one is too old or too young. All personality types find they can work together, there will be a job for every warm body that wants to contribute their individual talents and time. Involvement in theatre teaches respect for others and discourages forming opinions of others before you get to know them. Many close friendships develop while working on the common goal, putting on a show.
Where else can you start with nothing, just a script, then get a group together to build a set, make costumes, maybe learn music, rehearse, sell tickets and finally put on a show. You actually complete a project, start to finish in just a few weeks or months and are rewarded with that sense of accomplishment and self-worth.
This new group is looking for volunteers and interested parties, adults and children, who would like to get started with weekly music, acting and singing classes at either a local church or other location in town. There is also an old barn available, like those old Andy Hardy movies with Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. Then proceed to 4 plays a year starting next year.
