Recycling Hints
What do you do with your ink jet and laser printer cartridges? Do you just toss them in the trash? Are they thrown into some junk drawer just taking up valuable space? The best thing to do with them is recycle! To help you get started, here are a few places that will accept your old cartridges.
Office Max accepts both types of printer cartridges for recycling. They will give you $3 credit on your next purchase for HP, Dell and Lexmark laser cartridges. They will also refill most ink jet cartridges soc onsider that before buying new.
Staples accepts HP, Dell, and Lexmark laser printer cartridges for recycling.They will credit $3 on your Staples Rewards card.
Walgreens accepts both types of printer cartridges for recycling. They will give you a coupon for 10 free prints when you drop off cartridges. They will also refill most ink jet cartidges.
Western Recycling in Morgan Hill accepts selected printer cartridges for recycling as a fundraiser for the Morgan Hill Unified School District. Call 408 779-1781 to check if your cartridge is acceptable.
Booksmart in Morgan Hill also accepts both tpyes of printer cartridges for recycling. And, they have great books on helping the environment.
Used Motor Oil & Oil Filters
Motor oil and oil filters are accepted in all curbside programs.To order a free motor oil container, call your curbside recycling program. For curbside pickup, place your motor oil container and oil filter next to other recyclables. Thoroughly drain oil filters and place in a plastic bag with the holes up. In the City of Watsonville, place the filter with holes up in a filter box. Call 1-800-CLEANUP for drop-off locations.
